I was a singer, songwriter, recorder.  Aside from two small performances outsude at PeeWee Park, I only got up and sang a song or two onstage with other bands.
My one and only 'live' perfomance took place in the basement of the Topsail Churh.
At the time we had a camcorder so my husband became the appointed cameraman.
I could have let people assume that this performance was one of many, but although my forte is not writing 'fun' songs- I can appreciate the humour in life.  :-)

I am accompanied by Gus Burton, who performed every time with me when I was on stage.  He was my calming influence.  If I felt nervous, I would look at him and I would be okay.  Also there is Trevor Fagan.  He too is so relaxed, and talented and a joy to work with.  Then there is Rod Tucker.  I would love to leave his intro at that, but I don't know him well enough for that kind of joke. ;-)
Let's put it this way, if Rod can't play an instrument, it's because it hasn't been invented yet.

In addition to just about every song on my own tape, and the songs the guys sang; there were a few more that I sang.  Songs that were popular at the time.  With no rehearsal, and unfamiliar material- it was a challenge.
The guys were so patient with me, and sometimes during the night you could see them scrambling behind me to get into the key I chose to sing in at that particular time.  :-)

Vanity would dictate that I not put in some clips, as it does not show me in a flattering light.  But one must be able to laugh at oneself.  to take life too seriously is a shame.  So I include the songs where I got off to false starts or sang harmony where I should have kept my mouth shut.  These are the ones that make me cringe, but so be it.  I hope you enjoy these too.

With that said, here are the songs from the performance that night- warts and all.
I love the song Butcher Boy.
You can't tell from the video, but I actually get tears in my eyes when I sing it.
Rod did a version of Star of Logy Bay.
I had not really heard hm sing before.  So when he did I just kept my mouth shut and sipped my driink.
What a lovely voice.
Here is a song made popular by George Jones and Lacey J Dalton.  I loved the song, and even though it was a duet I felt it worked as a straight song too.
The first line is cut off, it goes: "With all my love, my dreams and plans."
Although I kept quiet for Rod's song, this was not the case for poor Trevor.
When Trevor sings he is like the kid on the merry-go-round, you just have to jump on!
So I tried my hand at harmony on this one.
This is a mini medley of Hank Williams Sr, -- I Can't Help it If I'm Still in Love With You and Your Cheatin' Heart

This song called 'Dear Charlie' on my tape, should actually be 'Dear Charley' as that is how Mr Pride spells his name.
But to be more accurate, It should have been titled, "Yes Charley, Your Ring Does Hurt My Finger"

There are more songs from that night.  If you would like to see them:
